We vonden een interessante vergelijking tussen twee circuit-gerichte straatauto’s; de Porsche GT3 RS versus BMW’s M3 GTS. Welke zou jij kiezen?

The car offers 450 horsepower at 1538 kg curb weight (factory claim 1530 kg), while the Porsche with the same 450 horsepower only weighs 1400 kg (1370 factory specification). Whether during acceleration, braking or cornering, the German editor continues to point out the higher weight of the GTS.

Performance wise, the Porsche accelerates from standstill to 100 km/hr in 3.7 seconds, while the M3 GTS stops the clock at 4.6 seconds. The gap becomes wider at 200 km/hr where the Porsche is 2.0 seconds faster.”

Opvallend zijn enkele testresultaten van het Duiste AutoBild. Zij deden enkele metingen bij beide auto’s en zoals je kunt zien claimt BMW dat de M3 een topsnelheid heeft van 305 km/u, en vogens AutoBild is dat correct. Al kijken we naar de Porsche zien we dat Porsche een topsnelheid claimt van 310 km/h, echter klokte AutoBild de GT3 RS op maar liefst op 330 km/u! Ook onderschatte Porsche hun GT3 RS bij de acceleratie van 0 naar 100 km/u. Vier seconden zijn hiervoor nodig volgens Porsche, maar de meetapparatuur van AutoBild gaf aan dat hier slechts 3,7 seconden voor nodig waren.
